gassing up my latest substack here for my hot mommies <3
“What’s the appropriate criteria for making new friends as an adult? And even further, what’s the appropriate criteria for making a mom friend: someone who’s supposed to be supportive and fun while giving you the space and generosity to be your least likable self?
In my mind, a “mom friend” is a unique, bonafide tier of friendship. Yes, your regular degular friends are people you can say some of your most questionable, least politically correct thoughts to without worrying that they’ll cancel you. But a mom friend does all that within the very touchy realm of children. Being able to confide in someone and admit that something as supposedly glorious as motherhood is actually stressful, sticky, and sometimes annoying? That’s a class of friendship that deserves its own tier.”
